"Often generated from organic sturctures bold and beatiful in themselves, the forms in Harriet Stanton's prints and drawings undergo suprising adaption to pictorial space. In response to the artist's inner feelings, a spontaneous transformation occurs..." - John McDonald Moore, Art Historian & Lecturer, The New School
Harriet Stanton was a New York born mixed-media artist who was known for her skillful printmaking techniques and large, semi-abstract paintings of natural forms. She completed her education at the College of William and Mary, Richmond Professional Institute and Cornell University.
Harriet Stanton has exhibited at notable museums including San Francisco Museum of Art, Heckscher, and Albright-Knox. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Yale Univeristy Art Gallery, The United States Embassy, Altantic-Richfield Collection, IBM, AT&T, Federal Reserve Bank, Kunstwerk Sammlung Klein in Eberdingen-Nussdorf, Germany and the Johns Mansville Collection.
